We are currently seeking experienced consultants with strong personal presence and a business-related background. Our consulting teams work with our client teams to deliver high impact initiatives that help our clients realize their business and revenue growth potential. With McMann & Ransford, you will gain a breadth of experience working with our Fortune 500 clients, as well as additional entrepreneurial experience with our many affiliated professional service companies and smaller growth-oriented clients.  

A successful candidate has a business background combined with the presence and candor to demonstrate personal and professional growth, gain the confidence of senior-level executives within the firm and interact with client teams. This candidate displays intellectual curiosity and excellent communication skills – written and verbal, as well as the potential for highly-refined presentation capabilities. Further, this candidate will demonstrate the ability to independently execute high-quality work streams and develop high-impact deliverables and presentations.  Candidates must possess strong PowerPoint skills and writing talent that brings complex ideas alive.  This is a hands-on position that is best suited for a person who is a self-starter and thrives working on a team to turn concept into action and deliver outstanding client results.

Key Responsibilities

Project Work:

  • Design project work streams given clear work objectives

  • Independently execute high-quality tasks and work streams, with guidance from senior resources

  • Contribute in developing solid work plans; use them to manage own work and work of the team to adjust to changing priorities so that deadlines are met while consistently delivering high quality client deliverables

  • Independently prepare for and conduct team meetings with mid-level client personnel

  • Produce client ready deliverables – examples include analytical reports, presentations, business model tools and templates, and training materials

  • Effectively delegate and lead junior team members on workstream tasks, deliverable development, analysis, and other client and firm activities

  • Develop and strengthen relationships with incumbent and new clients

Leadership:

  • Manage resources – both internal and Client – to ensure outcomes

  • Proactively leverage M&R delivery tools

  • Demonstrate project management skills – e.g. proactive task and time management

  • Produce client-ready deliverables leveraging team members with little or no guidance

  • Establish and maintain bi-directional communication mechanisms with the full M&R team on key milestones, due dates, and other metrics

  • Identify and escalate project concerns and issues and develop and execute resolution/mitigation plans

Team Work:

  • Take firm, team, and personal responsibility as a key member of the team

  • Bring clarity and ideas to the team

  • Contribute to the brand and process of establishing the vision and values of the business

  • Drive efficiency, innovation, and quality

  • Participate in internal M&R talent onboarding, development/training programs

  • Own and deliver on the target client outcomes

  • Understand client needs and requirements

Success Criteria

  • Demonstrating a positive attitude with ability to be self-motivated

  • Demonstrating proven track record of assignment successes, with a strong eye for detail

  • Demonstrating time management skills

  • Displaying both verbal and written communication skills, as well as presentation skills

  • Conveying the firm’s message at the client

  • Increasing our impact at the client

  • Incorporating an entrepreneurial character happy to align his/her personal objectives to contribute to the success of McMann & Ransford’s growth

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent work experience) required, with analytical thinking, effective writing, and/or communication coursework preferred

  • 3-7 years of work experience in a professional environment

  • Demonstrated success working collaboratively, ideally in cross-functional teams, in a project-based and fast-paced environment, but also willing to execute autonomously

  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Suite software, specifically PowerPoint and Excel

  • Excellent writing skills and highly-refined verbal communication skills, both suitable for client audiences

  • Strong personal presence and a confident, professional attitude

  • Project management skills – managing multiple priorities and tasks

  • Ability to quickly grasp complex business ideas and translate into actionable conversations, plans, tools, etc.

  • Self-starter, problem-solver

  • Ability to be flexible and to be comfortable with a high level of ambiguity

  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 80%
